Real Estate

Real Estate in South Central Texas is on the verge of really taking off. All the growth that is forecasted is going to bring Real Estate back to the forefront.

For 15 years I owned Dalmatian Advertising in San Antonio. Marketing is my specialty, I believe strongly in using more than one Multiple Listing Service, Visual Tours (the real deal not slide shows) and specifically designed sales pieces. Owning Dalmatian also taught me that service for your clients is essential to success.

So when I say "I work very hard for my clients." Believe it!

The Dailey Poet

The Dailey Poet column for the Seguin Daily News.

Many people ask me how I got my poetic start. Ever since I was in High School, poetry for birthdays, holidays and just for fun came easy and made simple things more interesting. On my daughters' snack packs for kindergarten I would write rhymes encouraging them to behave or have fun that day!

It is so touching to me that my rhymes make people smile and are often saved for family keepsakes. There is so much positive and good in Seguin, that it is a pleasure to write "The Dailey Poet".

The Hair Forum, Friday, December 18th

The Hair Forum was kind enough to invite me to their open house Friday, December 18th. I love this place. Adorable blonde receptionist Irma Franklin was my first impression up front, and it just keeps getting better everytime I go. I had a hair emergency. I went out of town for a hair cut and lets just say it wasn't good. I dropped in and begged Irma to fit me in with someone as I had an event that very night, The Taste of Seguin in June. Irma fixed me up with Angelica Canales and she literally saved the day! Professional, hard working Pam Burris, owner and mother hen of this great group, is also a fellow dog lover, so she is really tops in my book. Now don't judge Angelica on my hair everytime you see me, I have never been good with styling my own hair!

Keeper's Interiors, Thursday, December 17th

Keeper's Interiors Thursday December 17th was so much fun! You can see here all the beautiful Christmas displays, and of course, just about everything is for sale. Kody and Amber outdid themselves this year on purchasing such beautiful artwork, furniture and decorations. Austin Street as a whole really stepped up and Gift and Gourmet, You're So Crafty and the wonderful artist Kitty Keller's new store were all open late for a great evening of shopping in Seguin. We are so lucky to have such great places to shop right in our own backyard. Take a good look at the pictures they are worth a 1,000 words because Keeper's is so beautiful. Also note three of the pictures are labeled with local artisians so your gift will truly be unique!

Mike Ehrlick - His own design of beautiful ceramic crosses.

Danielle Panozzo - Candles that smell heavenly made right here in Seguin, Henry and Company Candles.

Everett Harcrow - Incredibly detailed hand carved wooden crosses.

Seguin's St. James Catholic School

Seguin's St. James Catholic School goes the extra distance to collect food for The Christian Cupboard! The two pie faced blue hooded beings are none other than Father Dennis Darilek and Principal Deanna Sanchez. If students brought a certain amount of food for the Canstruction Project, which cleverly was a recreation of the locomotive from The Polar Express, they in turn got to put a pie in the face of Father Dennis and Principal Sanchez. Might I add, they were very gracious and good natured, cause it was a mess! Read my column December 22nd in KWED Daily News for more on the kids that helped put this together.

The Guadalupe County Humane Society

The Guadalupe County Humane Society Nov 20 and 21st held there annual Pictures of Pets and or Children with Santa. This is a big fundraiser that is held each year and my second year to go to. There was a bake sale with loads of cookies and cakes. Special thanks to Seguin High School FCCLA/Jennie Reiley and Navarro high Schools Culinary Arts Program/Beth Gerhardt for baking up special treats to donate to the cause. Papa Murphy's Pizza donated pizza, ovens and time with every penny taken in to go straight to the Humane Society! Sylvia Ramirez with Bank of America was there all day Saturday, thanks so much to The Bank of America for giving the pups and Santa a great place for pics!

Many people may not know that the Humane Society functions solely from donations and money made through adoption, it is not supported by the County. So every pup or kitty is supported by the public! One of the services that the Humane Society is very proud of is there low cost spay and neuter program, available to anyone, no matter the income level or where your pet was adopted from, just call and set an appointment for your dog or cat! Our newest pet Bunny the mutt was taken care of the Humane Society.

Classic CASI Pod Fall Festival — chili cookoff

Chili Cookin' Update: Sandy Watson made chili history in Victoria Thanksgiving Weekend...She won 2nd on Friday and 1st on Sunday, breaking her pointless streak! Handsome other half Lanny Thomas went for 3rd on Sunday.

Sandy Watson got me involved in chili judging and I have to admit, it is one of my favorite things to do now. Chunkie and Sue Harwell emailed me that once again on Nov 21st some of the best chili in the state would be available for judging, well I was there, you know it! By the way CASI stands for "Chili Appreciation Society International Inc.". Not only do these characters all get together and have a lot of fun cooking chili in friendly competition, they use there organization to benefit The Christian Free Clinic. Pat King head Chili Pepper (President) said they have raised over $20,000 for the Christian Free Clinic, pretty neat!

If you are interested in joining this really fun group of chili cooking locals, contact Pat King 830-303-1755.
